A Quick Guide – Student Visa
The majority of international students (non-EU/EEA) are required to apply for a student visa to study in the UK.
Do I need a visa?
It is always best to check if you need a visa. You can do so by visiting the UK Boarder agency’s website (www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk)
When to apply for visa?
It is recommended to apply well in advance. The earliest date to apply is usually three months prior to the starting date of the course.
What to prepare for visa?
There are requirements that need be presented along with completing an application form
- Confirmation of acceptance for studies letter (CAS)
- A licensed Sponsor (University or college)
- Financial guarantee (bank statement or scholarship letter)
- Valid supporting documents*
- Bio-Metric details
*If the documents are not in English language, the original with fully certified translations need to be submitted.
What if I get visa rejection?
If the UK’s entry clearance officer is not satisfied with the evidence provided, or if for some other reason you’ve been denied entry, you would need to contact your course provider.
